SEB is updating its price list
From 1 November, a new price list will take effect with the most important change being the introduction of a monthly fee of 30 cents for private current accounts and one euro for business current accounts. However, with any of the SEB settlement plans, a current account will not have a monthly fee.
“Given the added national regulations in recent years, inevitably both banks and clients have to meet additional obligations, and this has made banking services more costly,” commented Eerika Vaikmäe-Koit, Head of the Retail Banking and Technology Area of SEB.
“SEB aims to be fair and transparent in its pricing. If costs resulting from regulations were to be covered fully by the prices of services, it would primarily affect active clients. In our assessment, this is not fair, and accordingly we are introducing a monthly fee on current accounts, through which less active clients will be contributing towards the costs of the obligations resulting from the increased stringency of the regulations,” said Vaikmäe-Koit.
For clients with any of SEB’s settlement plans, their current accounts will still have no monthly fee. The plans include all the essential daily banking services, and a set monthly fee provides the clients with a clear overview of their outlays for banking services. The more services are used, the more profitable the selected plan will become and with the right plan it is possible to save a significant amount in service charges annually.
“SEB has also launched extensive communication efforts regarding the advantages of its settlement plans both for those clients of SEB currently using services according to the regular price list and for prospective clients on the market looking for a new home bank. Approximately 90 per cent of private clients for whom SEB is their home bank have selected a suitable settlement plan, since it is the most cost-effective way to do their daily banking,” said Vaikmäe-Koit.
Information on the changes in the price list, settlement terms and terms and conditions of the current account agreement will be available from 1 September at all SEB branches and on the website at www.seb.ee/eng/changes_from_01112015. Changes in the price list are also related to cash transactions, services related to payments and settlements, loan and bank card service fees, and additional services.
In addition to the new price list, changes in the settlement terms and terms and conditions of the current account agreement will also take effect on 1 November. In the terms and conditions of the current account agreement, SEB will amend clauses related to the holding of currencies in an account, the payment of service charges, liability and termination of the agreement. In the settlement terms, SEB will specify the wording and amend the liability conditions.
