New functions for the SEB credit card
As of 6 December, new options were added to the SEB credit card with predetermined repayment. Card users can now set the date for the repayment of their credit limit, use their credit card to access the funds in their current account, and transfer the credit limit to their current account. The update will initially apply only to the credit card with predetermined repayment; however, in the future, SEB plans to add the same functionalities to the credit card with fixed payment.
This goal of the update is to make it easier for clients to access the funds in their accounts. Clients can now determine the order in which the funds in their current account and credit account are used. This means that there would be no need to pay for one purchase with two different cards: for instance, if there are insufficient funds on the current account, the same card may be used to access the available limit of the credit card. Likewise, there is no need for the client to withdraw money from their credit card to supplement their current account balance.
According to Ainar Leppänen, Head of Retail Banking and Technology, the new options for credit cards remove artificial restrictions on the use of funds: “If a client has been granted a credit card limit by the bank, it will now make the process of using funds and making purchases more flexible.”
The new functionalities of the credit card with predetermined repayment can be activated by the client, either in a bank branch or via the Internet bank.
