Interest by business clients towards banking services is growing at an exponential rate
SEB Pank, the first bank in Estonia to offer video meetings to its business clients, sees a continuous increase in the interest of users in various innovative solutions. In 2018 the number of accounts opened by SEB’s business clients via video meetings grew by 72%.
SEB Pank was the first bank in Estonia to begin offering the service of opening business accounts via video meetings a little more than two years ago. As of today, a total of 557 accounts have been opened via the video bridge. Last year, 72% more accounts were opened remotely than in 2017.
Clients site freedom of movement as a positive aspect of video meetings, insofar as the holding of meetings only requires a computer with an internet connection, web camera and an ID-Card or Mobile-ID to identify oneself. Among other things, SEB’s clients have been able to use the video bridge to open accounts for their companies while being in Spain or Thailand.
‘Starting last year, business clients were also given the opportunity to meet via video with a business client executive, which allows clients to sign documents, request additional information about banking services and products and to ask for help in setting-up a company in the e-Business Register,’ said Ainar Leppänen, Head of Retail Banking and Technology, commenting on the growth in popularity of the video meetings. ‘In 2018, the interest of business clients in meeting with a business client executive grew significantly’. Since there is no need to visit a branch or wait in line, it has saved clients a significant amount of time,’ added Leppänen.
SEB has been offering its business clients the opportunity to open a bank account via video since December 2016. In 2018, the possibility to meet with a client executive via video meeting was added. The meeting requires a SEB private client Internet Bank Agreement, a Republic of Estonia ID-Card or Mobile-ID and computer, web camera, microphone and internet connection.
