Mastercard and SEB found the future achievers of financial technology in the Baltic countries
SEB and Mastercard and the venture capital company NFT Ventures selected five fintech businesses of the Baltic countries in cooperation with whom they will begin to develop partner relationships and future financial technologies. The three-month Lighthouse programme is meant for smart financial technology startups in order to support them in their product development and enhance their cooperation with banks and investors.
The Lighthouse Tallinn circle now includes:
The credit assistant chatbot askRobin (Estonia/Latin America), the system for the administration of customer data and identification of money laundering risks Basis ID (Estonia/Singapore/Switzerland), a payment infrastructure based on open banking Crassula (Latvia/Estonia), a mobile wallet and payment solution for traders Paytailor (Estonia/UK), and an innovative card payment platform Wallester (Estonia).
Tallinn workshops will take place at the SEB Innovation Centre and you can get acquainted with the Baltic financial technology startups at the meet and greet on 8 April.
Altogether, 15 companies will launch in Tallinn, Oslo and Copenhagen within the framework of the programme, and the companies showing the biggest development can present their results in Amsterdam at the biggest event for financial technology startups Money 2020.
Of the 15 Nordic and Baltic companies that participated in the previous programme, 13 companies started cooperation with partners from banks and 8 found valuable cooperation opportunities with Mastercard. Six companies started cooperation projects between themselves within the programme. In the programme one company received an investment of EUR 1 million and the programme helped several companies grow their revenue so notably in cooperation projects that they no longer needed external investment, and were able to finance their growth from day-to-day business.
