Why to save for real estate?

One of the main purposes for which young people in Estonia save their money is buying a home – 52% of young people have cited this as their savings goal. “Statistics show that every other homeowner bought their home between the ages of 25 and 35, but in reality, many have the means to do so earlier and in fact, nearly a quarter bought their home before the age of 25.

Buying a home should be seen as an investment, because once the loan payments are over, the property is yours. In addition, history has shown that real estate prices increase over time, so in the long run, owning your own home can also mean benefiting from rising real estate prices.

If you are planning to buy property in a few years’ time, it is best to start preparing early. One option is, for example, to set up a special savings deposit, to which you can regularly transfer money for your future home. Deposits are a great way to accumulate money, because by depositing money, the money grows through the interest it earns, and so, the amount of your down payment accumulates even a little faster.
