Process of selecting the favourite Estonian National Opera soloists has begun
This year, SEB Pank – Gold Sponsor of the Estonian National Opera – will be presenting the Public Choice Awards for male and female soloists, as selected by opera-goers, for the eighth time.
The laureates of the Public Choice Awards will be selected from among the permanent soloists of the Estonian National Opera, by means of an audience poll. Audience favourite soloists will receive a bonus of EUR 2000 and an award trophy – two applauding hands, a work created by Nils Hint, a docent in the metalworking department of the Estonian Academy of Arts and an artist. Theatre-goers can vote for their favourite soloists while visiting the Estonian National Opera during March. This year’s laureates will be announced on 3 April, at the performance of the opera The Tsar’s Bride.
‘The cooperative relationship between SEB and the Estonian National Opera is strong and goes back many years. Our employees and clients both love the Estonian National Opera, which is why they will have a significant say in selecting the best female and male soloists. If possible, we will see all performances, so it is quite likely that our employees have found their favourite soloists that they are keen to vote for. The cooperative relationship between SEB and the Estonian National Opera is mutual and, for example, before Christmas, the Estonian National Opera’s staff presented a valuable gift to non-profit association SEB Heategevusfond. The theatre-family offered their valuable time and helped us pack Christmas presents, which spread joy for children living in safe- and substitute homes across Estonia. Emotions that we mutually receive and offer are always authentic!’ said the Chairman of the Management Board Allan Parik.
‘Recognition by the audience is the greatest praise of all and I am very happy that our long-time supporter SEB Pank has made it possible to share that gratitude and recognition from the audience with the performers.’ said
Aivar Mäe, General Manager of the Theatre. ‘SEB Pank’s Public Choice Awards are being presented for the eighth time, which is an indication of excellent cooperation between the bank and the theatre, something that will last for many more years,’ added Mäe.2018 saw SEB’s Public Choice Awards go to
Juuli Lill and René Soom. All tho se voting will enter the E stonian National Opera’s lucky draw for ten EUR 20 gift cards. All winners will be contacted on 4 April.
