Starting from 1 January 2023, retail investors can no longer purchase investment fund units and ETFs if the key information document is not published
We wish to inform you that starting from 1 January 2023, investment fund and ETF providers must make available the key information document (hereinafter KID) arising from the PRIIPs (Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products) Regulation if they wish to offer products to retail investors in the European Union. The PRIIPs KID is a brief document containing basic information which aims to provide the knowledge retail investors require for making informed investment decisions.
If the PRIIPs KID is not available to retail investors by 31 December, SEB will not allow to purchase that fund and ETFs. This requirement is not applicable if the transactions are made under a securities portfolio management agreement. Customers can sell their fund and ETF instruments without restrictions.
When the fund and ETF provider publishes the PRIIPs KID, SEB will remove purchase restrictions regarding that instrument.
