Transfer your collected coins to your bank account free of charge at SEB
From 28 February to 13 March, all private customers can bring their collected coins to the Tornimäe branch in Tallinn or to the Tartu branch of SEB and have them transferred to their bank accounts to earn interest free of charge.
‘Sustainable mindset is important in all areas of banking. Collecting coins reduces the environmental footprint of cash and bringing the coins collected into piggy banks, desk drawers, and pockets back into the circulation helps to reduce the amount of new coins produced. We add our contribution to the successfully launched joint campaign of Eesti Pank and Omniva which has already helped collect more than three million coins,’ explained Ainar Leppänen, SEB Head of Retail Banking.
The savings will be earning interest on your bank account
‘By transferring their savings collected in coins to their bank accounts, private customers can also immediately start to earn interest from their money, as SEB pays an annual interest of 0.4% on the savings of up to 5,000 euros on the bank accounts of private customers,’ added Leppänen.
The 0.4% interest rate is added automatically to the bank account in euros. The interest is calculated from the money on bank accounts on a daily basis as at the end of the day and is paid once a month. SEB pays interest on all savings of private persons, whether or not they have a plan or regardless of their customer status.
Within the framework of the coin collection campaign, private customers of SEB can bring the euro coins that they have collected to the Tornimäe branch in Tallinn and to the Tartu branch. The service is provided free of charge during the campaign from 28 February to 13 March. In order to have their coins and cents transferred to their bank account, the customer must bring an ID and have a private customer bank account at SEB, as the amount will be transferred to their account.
Minors can always transfer coins in the amount of up to 100 euros per calendar month to their bank accounts for free at SEB. In the case of a higher amount, the regular price list applies.
