Notice to the unitholders of SEB Fund 2 – SEB Asia ex. Japan Fund
SEB Investment Management AB has decided to merge the Luxembourg-domiciled SEB Fund 2 – SEB Asia ex. Japan Fund with the Sweden-domiciled SEB Asienfond ex Japan. The merger will take effect on 11 March 2024. SEB Fund 2 – SEB Asia ex. Japan Fund will cease to exist once the merger is complete.
Unitholders are not required to act, as the merger will not have any effect on the unitholders or the value of their fund units, but they should be familiar with the merger.
The merging sub-fund and the receiving fund have very similar investment objectives and policies, and they are managed by the same investment team within SEB Investment Management AB. The merger aims to provide the benefit of a greater fund size, which will improve cost efficiency, which, in turn, will be more attractive to investors. The merging sub-fund and the receiving fund are both actively managed equity funds with investments focusing on equities and equity-related transferable securities within Asia (excluding Japan).

If you have a fund saving order agreement for the SEB Asia ex. Japan Fund, then as of 11 March 2024, due to the terms and conditions of the fund saving order agreement, your fund savings in SEB Asia ex. Japan Fund will go to SEB Asienfond ex Japan, unless you cancel the fund savings standing order before 2 p.m. on 11 March.
Unitholders who do not wish to be included in the merger are entitled to sell their units (i.e. submit a sales order to the bank) until 2 p.m. on 29 February 2024. It is not possible to buy, sell, or switch the SEB Asia ex. Japan Fund units from 29 February to 11 March. In addition, the purchase transactions of the fund savings standing order during this period will not be executed or postponed. As of 11 March, it is possible to trade only with the units of SEB Asienfond ex Japan fund.
